Testing is crucial for new social networking site

Social networking site Wigadoo.com wants to make it easier for friends to organise social events when there’s money involved – from holidays to hen parties.

Wigadoo co-founder Uma Rajah reckons the time and hassle involved in organising such events puts people off actually doing them. “If you use Wigadoo,” she says, “it’s so much easier. If you’re in a sports club, you can use it for getting money for hiring a pitch; you might be a gang of friends wanting to go to the theatre or getting money for holidays.

“It’s really interesting for us to learn what types of people are using the site and for what occasions. It’s up to us to then hone the proposition to suit their needs.”

The site was only launched at the end of June so Rajah says the focus is currently on building a database of people to get the word on Wigadoo out into the community. “It’s an inherently viral concept,” she says.

Testing is also a priority for the next 12 months. “We want to understand what works for people and what doesn’t. We want to get as much feedback as possible so we can refine and improve the site.”
