Gerry Ford, chairman of Caffe Nero, talks about his plans to reach a £1bn turnover by exploited opportunities

He has just delisted the business, taking it private in a £225m transaction, believing that the next stage of the company’s development is best-served in the private arena. California-born, Ford has also started his own venture capital firm, Paladin Associates.

Here he talks to Real Business about the opportunities for UK entrepreneurs and how he plans to take his business to £1bn turnover by being different.
