Hirani plans for Indian food chains

Jamal Hirani is building an Asian food empire. As well as expanding his Tiffinbites-branded restaurants internationally, he also plans to rapidly grow the Bombay Bicycle Club following his purchase of the business.
“We’ve just acquired a new site and will be opening a Bombay Bicycle Club in the next two months in Twickenham," he says. "Indian food is very popular and we have plans to take the chain outside of London to all major cities.”
Bombay Bicycle Club has three restaurants and 15 delivery kitchens in London. Hirani bought the chain from The Clapham House Group, which also owns Gourmet Burger Kitchen, The Real Greek and Tootsies, for the bargain-basement price of £4.4m.
Hirani predicts he'll do more deals in the coming months, adding: “When it comes to Tiffinbites, we’ll also be opening more and more restaurants. We’re going international later on in the year by opening two stores in Dubai in the autumn. We also have restaurants starting up in the new Westfield Shopping Centre in White City, London, and in Oxford, Leeds and Birmingham.”
