FD watch

New finance directors have been appointed at Southern Bear, Arbuthnot Banking Group, York Pharma and Pantheon Resources.

David Parsons has been appointed the full-time finance director at Southern Bear. He has been acting as FD at Southern Bear, a holding company that’s focused on acquiring groups in Europe, for the last few months on an interim basis.

Mike Butcher has resigned as finance director of Maypole after refusing to move to Norfolk where most of the hotel group’s locations are based.

James Cobb has been appointed finance director of Arbuthnot Banking Group. Cobb will join the company on 1 November 2008 from Citigroup where he is currently deputy chief financial officer and controller of the company’s global consumer group in Europe, Middle East and Africa.

Ian Harvey has resigned as finance director of York Pharma, the specialist dermatology pharmaceutical company, following medical advice. He has been replaced, on an interim basis, by Simon Ainley.

Justin Hondris has been appointed director of finance and corporate development at Pantheon Resources. He is one of the original founders of Pantheon and has acted as a non-executive director with responsibility for finance since the oil and gas exploration company's inception.
