Keeping staff in the loop

Creating a committed workforce is important to Premium Appliance Brands co-founder Guy Weaver. That’s why he communicates freely with his employees.
“We keep our staff far more informed than most companies,” Weaver says. “I share the pain and the joy.”
Premium Appliance Brands designs and sources appliance ranges for a number of distributors and retailers. The most recent figures for the business show turnover of £20.6m and growth tracking at 89 per cent.
Premium Appliance Brands employs 45 people, and Weaver says the contribution of each staff member is acknowledged so that people feel like they’re making a difference.
He adds: “I make a point of walking around the office. I know everyone’s first names and last names and what their interests are to try to get a commitment from everyone. We profit share with staff as well.”
