On the hop: brewery firm goes global
by Kate Pritchard - Wednesday, 23rd April 2008
The company already has 100 employees on its books, turns over £10.5m and sells its brew on supermarket shelves across the country (“Magic Lagyr”, launched last summer, was the first mass produced Welsh lager to hit the market for seven years).
And now Parry is taking the business Stateside.
She launched a major sales drive across the pond last summer, in an attempt to cash in on the boom for bottled beers in the States.
It was a storming success: the company’s initial stock of 1,750 cases sold out within two days and Parry clinched a deal to supply all 50 states.
Connie Parry is shortlisted for the manufacturing gong at this year's First Women Awards. Read more about the event here.
