Take your business website seriously

Goldenberg sells a range of goods, such as hair care products and cosmetics, online and it's proving to be a successful venture. Sales grew 91 per cent to stand at £8.8m in 2006.
He's focused on creating a positive experience for the customer. “A lot of people think they need an internet presence but they don’t know anything about it. They just ask a web company to build something,” he says.
“But you wouldn’t do that if you were building a shop on the high street. You’d get your mind, body and soul into what’s being done, how you want to present the goods and what kind of experience you want to give your customers.”
Goldenberg says the reason why a lot of retailers haven’t been successful online is because they haven’t taken the medium seriously enough.
