Big Brother's Liam Young exposed as fake entrepreneur

by Laura Morgan - Monday, 7th January 2008 - (13) comments - Business comment

Big Brother's Liam Young exposed as fake entrepreneur

This year's Big Brother inhabitants are a cast of "pure prodigies" from the worlds of fashion, sport, science, music and business. But just how genuine is "entrepreneur" Liam Young?

The 19-year-old self-proclaimed entrepreneur and managing director of web design firm Oxy-UK has been over adventurous with his business credentials.

Liam Young claims that his £200,000-turnover company hosts two million web sites (seriously unlikely) and employs 12 people. Why, then, has it ground to a halt while he’s in the Big Brother house?

A whole website has been dedicated to uncovering the "truth".

Is Young a fraudster who has bullshitted his way onto national television?

Or is he a budding businessman with a nose for a great PR stunt?

Let's hear your views.

Right, I've worked with Liam on various things and i have seen what he does. Unless i had way too much shit in my veins to understand what was going on i would say that he is what he is, which is a businessman. all of you need to stop bitching about the lad and let him get on with what he does best...earn more money than you sad pathetic lot ever will. Next time i speak to liam i'll direct him to this page and let him have a giggle while he wipes his arse with ur wage cheques! (or giros if you live in norris green!)

'Friend' of Liam Says:

In response to Hayley.. The only 'Talent' he does have is pulling the wool over the eyes of the BB producers. How do I know he lied? Well, I have been a 'Friend' of Liam's for a good 3 to 4 years. He doesnt employ 12 people, his turnover is nowhere near the £200,000 he claimed, and as for his "apartment" he claims he has. He actually lives with his parents in Widnes. Thank god for the eviction. Will finally teach him a well needed lesson about not blagging! Sincerely, 'Friend' of Liam

Hayley Says:

GOD Why Are People So MEAN? Yeah, He Could Of Lied But How Do You Know? People Are Just Making These Thigns Up Cause They Are Jelous. Liam Is Really Talented. And Why Pick On Him Cause He was On Big Brother? Its Just Jelousy! So Build A Bridge And Get Over It. And He Doesnt Have Mental Health Issues, He Just Likes Alone Time, Everyone Does x

It’s importance to be legal, decent and honest in business. Anyone selling on Ebay knows that if they blot their copybook everyone will know about it. The new generation of online networking sites and blogs will out anyone that is not the real article and developing peer-reviewed business communities will sort the wheat from the chaff in the future (see http://www.mydealmaker.co.uk).

Outlaw Web Master Says:

Liam is a fake. Half of the 50 sites he does host with his rented reseller account are of his own making. Anyone thinking that people are just being nasrty to him should read the facts and lies he's made up. He's even been caught asking for advise on how to inflate his turnover back in October...most likely to impress Endemol. The guy worked in Pizza Hut last years for goodness sake and an O2 call centre. The are fact. The guy is no special one. He's a fake. OWM

unknown Says:

if he is a "fake" then why would he have his own website?? www.liamyoung.co.uk and the address is the same as the OxyUK you people are just jealous, and want to cause some media gossip i know the lad personally, and i certainly know you are wrong

James Smith Says:

There is simply no excuse for lying about your success for a competitive advantage. He should be removed from the house and exposed as the fraud he is! Once he's been exposed and morally destroyed, he should have some counseling, because he has serious delusions of grandeur!

Mark Newby Says:

I think its quite sad that people around the country have turned on someone who is actually trying to make a go of things. It's shocking - people saying he has mental health issues and things - this kind of bullying is the reason why british business is falling at the hands of foreign competitors. We need to encourage people like Liam - its obvious that he has lied, but someone with experience should take him under their wing, he has real potential to become big in business, and clearly has the drive. Having recently tried and failed to launch 2 ventures, I know how tough it can be for a budding entrepreneur and I call for everyone to leave the poor lad alone! Mark Newby (21).

Liam is a liar, get him out!

George Mctavin Says:

Ugh This kid is a total fake. Shame on Endmeol for explioting him and shame on his parents.

January 08, 2008 9:56am
Rob Golding Says:

I think it's sad that Endemol / C4 who quite clearly know about his lies and B.S. are setting up someone with quite serious mental health issues in this way.
