The winners of the Asian Women of Achievement Awards 2007 were announced on Wednesday, 23rd May at a ceremony to celebrate talented and high-achieving Asian women in Britain. The evening included a recital from the talented young pianist and Arts and Culture nominee, Tara Kamangar.
Winners included scientist and inventor, Dr Helen Lee, volunteer Masayo Kidani and entrepreneur Sharon Kaur. The founder of Manhattan Properties Superna Sethi walked away with the Chairman’s award for transforming her company.
The event was attended by a host of celebrity guests, such as the glamourous Elizabeth Hurley and her husband Arun Nayar; Miss Great Britain 2006 Preeti Desai and the actresses Kara Tointon and Phoebe Thomas.
Most notably in attendance was the award's dedicated patron, Cherie Booth QC, resplendent in a sari, who said that all the women should be "extremely proud of their achievements".
